Capodarco

The climb that bites

Capodarco is one of the districts of the town of Fermo, in the Marche region: the climb leading into the town centre is around 3.7 km at 5.8% and in stage 8 of the 2026 Giro will be tackled before the finish (in Fermo), on a finale that mirrors that of Tirreno Adriatico 2017, won by Peter Sagan.
Capodarco is a familiar name to Italian fans thanks to the GP Capodarco, an U23 classic founded in 1964 and renowned for the passion of its crowds.
The race is held on 16 August, the birthday of Fabio Casartelli, winner in 1991 and remembered with a start from the monument dedicated to him.
