    Hamilton wins stage 4 of the Tirreno-Adriatico, Woods retains the Maglia Azzurra

    Lucas Hamilton (Mitchelton – Scott) has won stage 4 of the 55th edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico EOLO, 194km from Terni to Cascia, ahead of Fausto Masnada (Deceuninck – Quick-Step) and Michael Woods (EF Pro Cycling) who retains the Maglia Azzurra, as leader of the GC.

    Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Lucas Hamilton said: “I tried to stay with the strongest riders on the final climb, then I was lucky I was with Masnada on the final attack, I could have not made it alone. It was a good day, Simon remains the leader for the GC”.

    Michael Woods, the Maglia Azzurra, said: “Really hard stage but the team but very strong. A difficult day, just like yesterday and probably tomorrow. There are so many strong riders here, I am happy to keep the jersey another day.”
