To celebrate the 109th edition of the Corsa Rosa, RCS Sport, in collaboration with NOVO Esports, brings the Giro d’Italia into the Fortnite universe, with a dedicated map and a never-before-seen game mode. The goal is to engage a young and global audience, leveraging a player base of over 650 million users to promote Made in Italy and the beauty of the territory.
A brand-new gameplay feature
The project’s major innovation is the introduction of the bicycle as a new vehicle in Fortnite, with a custom-built system including exclusive animations.
The game environment, which can host up to 8 players simultaneously, unfolds across seven stages touching eight key cities of the 2026 route: Catanzaro, Naples, Blockhaus, Viareggio, Aosta, Milan, Gemona del Friuli and Rome, recreating landmarks such as the Duomo of Milan, the Colosseum and the Altare della Patria.
Players will race between cities on De Rosa bikes, the project’s partner, and then complete exploration challenges on foot through squares and monuments.
A physical and digital project
The custom map will not exist only online. It will also be playable live at the NOVO Esports stand at COMICON Naples (30 April – 3 May 2026) and at Milan Games Week (27–29 November 2026), featuring a Giro d’Italia-themed environment and next-generation gaming stations, where users can experience the game together with friends or family.
The launch will be supported by a social media campaign including Riccardo “Piz” Pizzinelli, Twitch streamer and influencer, a key figure in the Italian Fortnite community and an avid cyclist.
