tourist info

Marmolada, aka the Queen of the Dolomites, is a mountain group on the border between the provinces of Trento and Belluno, the highest in the Dolomites themselves, with its highest peak at Punta Penia (3,343m above sea level). Its southern side is characterized by steep slopes, on the northern side there is the Marmolada Glacier, the largest in the Dolomites.

A cable car from Malga Ciapèla reaches – through two intermediate stations – the summit station of Punta Rocca. At the second intermediate station (Serauta) you can visit the Museum of the Great War in Marmolada, where the main aspects of the war in the high mountains are addressed. This museum is at the highest altitude in Europe.
