The Giro d'Italia 108 gifted us three weeks of incredible comebacks, like those of Yates and Van Aert; memorable stories, like those of Verona, Denz, and Prodhomme; rising stars revealed to the world, like Del Toro, Tarling, Pellizzari, and Van Uden; feats of strength, like those of Pedersen and Carapaz; perfect sprints, like those of Kooij and Groves; unforgettable breakaways, like those of Scaroni, Plapp, Asgreen, and Harper; the final curtain calls of Bardet and Fuglsang, the penultimate of Caruso – but also disappointments and tears, like those of Roglič, Ayuso, and Ciccone. A three-week-long spin cycle that has now come to a stop. And as long and exhausting as it was, we already miss it.
