VAN AERT WINS STRADE BIANCHE EOLO 2020

The Belgian Wout van Aert (Team Jumbo – Visma) has won the 14th edition of Strade Bianche EOLO; part of the UCI WorldTour, the race covered 184km from Siena to Siena (Piazza del Campo). Taking the win in the historic square, he beat Davide Formolo (UAE Team Emirates) and Maximilian Schachmann (BORA – Hansgrohe).

  • Davide Formolo (UAE Team Emirates) at 30″
  • Maximilian Schachmann (BORA – Hansgrohe) at 32″

Speaking seconds after the finish, a victorious Wout van Aert said: “Over the last two editions of Strade Bianche, I gained a lot of confidence. It’s never easy to win and it was harder than usual in today’s circumstances. It makes the win even better. This is proof that I’m at the highest level now. To have won Strade Bianche at the age of only 25, with a cyclocross background is a huge achievement.”

VAN VLEUTEN WINS STRADE BIANCHE WOMEN ELITE 2020

The Dutch rider Annemiek Van Vleuten (Mitchelton-Scott) won the 6th edition of Strade Bianche Women Elite EOLO, 136km from Siena to Siena (Piazza del Campo). The UCI road World Champion crossed the finish line in the historic square ahead of Margarita Garcia Cañellas (Alé BTC Ljubljana) and Leah Thomas (Équipe Paule Ka)
