Luigi Ksawery Luca, CEO of Toyota Motor Italia: “We are proud to renew our partnership with RCS MediaGroup for the fifth consecutive year and to provide all our expertise in the field of sustainable mobility. The partnership with RCS confirms Toyota’s constant attention to the world of sports and our “Let’s go Beyond” vision, whose ambition is to develop technologies and services that ensure freedom of movement for all, going beyond the goal of zero emissions alone, to achieve a more sustainable, safe and inclusive society.”

Urbano Cairo, President of RCS MediaGroup: “Toyota is a brand known all over the world, and the renewal of the partnership until 2025 is a sign of continuity that shows how the Giro d’Italia is an event with an increasingly international prestige that attracts big companies. With Toyota we share a vision that focuses on environmental sustainability evidenced by the vehicles that are made available to us. The Toyota fleet for the Giro d’Italia is composed of electric and hybrid cars, aimed at decreasing emissions year after year. This partnership aims, in the long run, to bring zero CO2 impact to a major traveling sporting event. We are confident that the path marked out is the right one.”

Toyota will be present at the 106th edition of the Giro d’Italia with its entire electrified range, with a fleet of more than 50 vehicles, including five new Toyota bZ4Xs, the first model in the Toyota bZ – beyond Zero – family of zero-emission battery electric vehicles (BEVs), which will follow the athletes along the stages of the event.

In addition to the Toyota bZ4Xs, we will also see models from the GR Sport range, inspired by the sporting spirit of the Toyota Gazoo Racing division which embodies the company’s commitment to continuously improving its cars by using motorsports as a testbed for new technologies and developing increasingly efficient, sustainable and innovative cars.

Completing the fleet are the RAV4, in Full Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid versions, and the Corolla Hybrid Touring Sports. These cars perfectly combine performance, high energy efficiency and extremely low climate-altering and pollutant emissions. In fact, in last year’s edition, the RAV4 Hybrid and the Corolla Hybrid Touring Sports that followed the riders along the race performed at the highest level, traveling along the stages of the event in zero-emission mode for more than 54 percent of the time, a testament to the great contribution that Toyota’s electrified technologies can make to reducing CO2 emissions.
