Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) has won Stage 16 of the 107th Giro d’Italia, the 118.4 km long Lasa/Laas-Santa Cristina Val Gardena/St. Christina in Gröden (Monte Pana). Giulio Pellizzari (VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) and Daniel Felipe Martinez (Bora – Hansgrohe) finished second and third respectively.
Tadej Pogačar makes it five with Stage 16 win
Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and Maglia Rosa Tadej Pogacar said:
“We wanted to leave some gap to the breakaway riders because we didn’t want to take any risk but Movistar decided to pull. Once we were close to the attackers I said to Novak and Majka to push and in the finale I made the difference again. Five wins is a great achievement”.
