Tadej Pogačar wins Il Lombardia presented by EOLO 2021

Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) has won the 115th Il Lombardia presented by Eolo, raced over a 239km route from Como to Bergamo.

The second finisher was Fausto Masnada (Deceuninck-Quick Step), beaten by the Slovenian rider in a sprint. Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) sprinted from the chasing group to cross the line third.

2 – Fausto Masnada (Deceuninck-Quick Step) s.t.

3 – Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) at 51″

Speaking seconds after the race finish, the winner Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) said: “It’s crazy to finish the season like this. I’m a man without words. I knew Masnada knew these roads pretty well. Today was a good day. For me, every victory is important, but this one is a special one because I’ve been dreaming to race and win Il Lombardia for a long time.”
