Matteo Malucelli wins stage 1 of Il Giro di Sicilia and leads the general classification


Matteo Malucelli (Nazionale Italiana) has won Stage 1 of Il Giro di Sicilia Eolo, 199km from Milazzo to Bagheria. Matteo Moschetti (Trek – Segafredo) and Filippo Fiorelli (Bardiani Csf Faizanè) finished second and third respectively.


Matteo Malucelli (Nazionale Italiana) now wears the Maglia Giallo Rossa and leads the General Classification.

It’s a difficult period, my teammates and I found ourselves in a difficult situation but this result is a sign that I worked well during the winter and also in this period. I am very happy and we hope it will be a new starting point.”
