Speaking seconds after the finish, the winner of Il Giro d’Abruzzo Carta Giovani Nazionale Kevin Vauquelin said: “It feels really good to be a winner again. I’ve been through hard times in the past few weeks. It’s a relief. We came here with a strong team. Two days in a row we’ve been very close to winning. To cross the line first gave me an incredible emotion. It’s very good to win the stage and GC. When we made the difference with two other riders, it was about following the moves. It was far from the end but I knew there were few opponents able to chase us down. I had a lot of questions in my head before Il Giro d’Abruzzo, it ends up being a great restart for the end of the season”.
