Please be reminded that the first rider clearing the Valico di Santa Cristina will receive the Montagna Pantani prize.
Before the start, the Giro d’Italia will observe a minute’s silence in memory of Stefano Martolini, the Team Manager of Viris Vigevano who lost his life during the “Trofeo Comune di Castelfidardo”.
COMMUNIQUE BY THE RACE DIRECTION
ATTENTION: transit over the Passo del Mortirolo and Valico di Santa Cristina
Starting from 13:00, only the vehicles in the race convoy (that is, traveling between the race start and the race end vehicles) will be allowed to take the Passo del Mortirolo climb. Exceptions apply to the cars of the Organisation, and to the team cars providing assistance to the riders, which should however always remain outside the race convoy, as per regulation. After that time, all other accreditation holders apart from the above must proceed directly to Aprica, by diverting from the stage course in Edolo (at km 112.6 of racing).
Starting from 15:30, only the vehicles in the race convoy (that is, traveling between the race start and the race end vehicles) will be allowed to take the Valico di Santa Cristina climb. Exceptions apply to the cars of the Organisation, and to the team cars providing assistance to the riders, which should however always remain outside the race convoy, as per regulation. After that time, all other accreditation holders apart from the above must proceed directly to Aprica, by diverting from the stage course at the intersection to Santa. Cristina (at km 189 of racing)
Please be informed that, the stage route will be used by the Giro E from 12:10 onwards, starting in Edolo.
