Lorenzo Fortunato is the winner of the 2025 edition of the FantaGiro d’Italia. The Bolognese rider from XDS – Astana Team managed to overtake Mads Pedersen (Lidl – Trek) by a whisker thanks to the points collected in the twenty-first and final stage, the 143 km Rome–Rome route. Pedersen had led the FantaGiro general classification since the opening stage in Durrës. The final tally reads 636 points for Lorenzo Fortunato, 623 for Mads Pedersen, and 605 for Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates – XRG), who claimed the FantaGiro stage win in the celebratory finale in Rome.
The 21-year-old Mexican rider scored a total of 111 points: 30 for finishing second in the overall Giro standings, 20 for winning the Maglia Bianca as best young rider, 20 for his team UAE Team Emirates – XRG taking the top spot in the final Super Team classification, 8 for his placement in the Points Classification (Maglia Ciclamino), 2 in the Mountain Classification (Maglia Azzurra), and 8 for his position in the Red Bull KM ranking. Del Toro also earned 10 points for the Bouquet bonus, 10 for the “Calm Before the Storm” bonus (joking with fellow riders during the neutral start), and 3 for the Conad “Grocery” bonus.
Second in the stage standings was Lorenzo Fortunato (XDS – Astana Team) with 86 points: 20 for winning the Maglia Azzurra, 10 for his team’s Super Team ranking, 10 for the Fair Play Prize, 20 for topping the overall Combativity classification, 10 for the Bouquet bonus, 10 for the “Calm Before the Storm” Bonus, 1 for the Conad “Grocery” bonus, and 5 for the Imatra Bonus (first rider to reach the 25 km mark).
Rounding out the day’s podium was the Giro d’Italia 2025 winner Simon Yates (Team Visma – Lease a Bike) with 79 points: 50 for securing the Maglia Rosa, 12 for Team Visma – Lease a Bike placing third in the Super Team ranking, 10 for the “Calm Before the Storm” bonus, 4 for the Conad “Grocery” bonus, and 3 for the InterCity “Train to the Sprint” bonus (awarded to the team that forms a lead-out train of at least three riders in the final 10 km).
