Julian Alaphilippe (Soudal-Quickstep) won the twelfth stage of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the Martinsicuro – Fano, with a total score of 120 points.
With his extraordinary performance, the two-time world champion claimed his second stage victory in the FantaGiro d’Italia after the one in Rapolano Terme. He earned 50 points for the stage win, 15 for intermediate sprints, 8 for the Intergiro, 14 for the 4th category GPM, 20 for the “You never forget your first” bonus awarded to the rider who wins a stage in the Giro d’Italia for the first time, and 3 for the “Equipment Bonus.” The French champion also scored 10 points for the Breakaway Award, another 10 for the Combativity Award, and a penalty of 10 points for not drinking after opening a bottle on the awards stage (Teetotaler Penalty).
Mirco Maestri (Team Polti Kometa) finished in second place with 66 points, and Jhonatan Narvaez (INEOS Grenadiers) took third place with 41 points.
