15/05/2025

Kaden Groves (Alpecin–Deceuninck) claimed victory in Stage 6 of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the 227 km route from Potenza to Naples, the longest stage of this year’s Giro d’Italia.

The Australian sprinter racked up a total of 57 points thanks to his win in the bunch sprint along the iconic Via Caracciolo seafront. His score came from multiple sources: 30 points for the stage win, 2 points for placing in an intermediate sprint, 5 points from the “Toast” bonus, 10 points from the Rotoloni Regina bonus “The Stage That Never Ends” (awarded to the winner of the longest stage of the Giro), and 10 more for the “Novi” bonus.

Second place in the fantasy stage standings went to one of the day’s breakaway heroes, Enzo Paleni (Groupama–FDJ), who earned 32 points. His haul included 10 points for his placings in the intermediate sprints, 4 points for a result on the 2nd cat. KOM, 5 points for being first over a third-category climb, 10 points for the Breakaway Prize, and 3 points from the Conad “Grocery” bonus.

Tied for third with 21 points each were Primož Roglič (Red Bull–Bora–Hansgrohe) and Sven Erik Bystrøm (Groupama–FDJ). Roglič earned 9 points from his GC ranking, 2 points thanks to his team’s third place in the Super Team classification, and 10 more points for the “greeting” bonus. Bystrøm, on the other hand, gained 10 points from the “Calm Before the Storm” bonus (awarded to the rider spotted joking with teammates during the neutral rollout), another 10 points from the Conad “Grocery Time” bonus, and 1 additional point from the Conad “Grocery For The Whole Team” bonus.
