The brilliant duo from XDS Astana Team, Christian Scaroni and Lorenzo Fortunato, dominated Stage 16 of the FantaGiro d’Italia – the 202 km from Piazzola sul Brenta to San Valentino (Brentonico) – racking up record-breaking scores well over 100 points!

The stage winner is Christian Scaroni with 112 points: 30 for the stage victory, 6 for placing first in the Red Bull Kilometer, 33 from placements on 1st cat. KOMs, 6 from 2nd cat. KOMs, 2 from the Super Team ranking, 10 from the Parade bonus (awarded when two or more teammates cross the line together), 10 for his first ever career win at the Giro d’Italia, 10 for the Bouquet bonus, and 5 for the Toast bonus.

In second place is Giro Maglia Azzurra Lorenzo Fortunato with 106 points: 18 for finishing second on the stage, 2 for his Red Bull Kilometer placement, 39 from 1st cat. KOMs, 10 from 2nd cat. KOMs, 2 for XDS Astana Team’s third place in the Super Team ranking, 10 for the Combativity Prize, 10 for the Parade bonus, 10 for the Bouquet bonus, and 5 for the Toast bonus. With this performance, Fortunato closes in on the overall lead in the FantaGiro standings, where Mads Pedersen still holds the top spot by just 43 points.

In third place is Maglia Rosa Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) with 31 points: 10 for leading the partial general classification, 5 for his team’s first place in the Super Team standings, 5 for the Acrobat bonus (awarded to the team when a mechanic performs an in-race repair from the car window), 10 for the Push bonus for being assisted with a push during a restart, and 1 point for the Conad “Grocery” Bonus.
