Thanks to his solo victory in Bormio, the Maglia Rosa of the Giro, Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates – XRG), also wins stage seventeen of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the 155 km San Michele all’Adige (Fondazione Edmund Mach) – Bormio stage. The 21-year-old Mexican rider scored 58 points: 30 for the stage win, 10 for leading the overall Giro classification, 3 for his result in the 3rd cat. KOM, 5 for his team’s first place in the Super Team classification, and 10 for his very first career win at the Giro d’Italia.
In second place with 54 points is the King of the Mountains classification leader Lorenzo Fortunato (XDS Astana Team), now just six points behind the overall FantaGiro leader Mads Pedersen. The Bolognese rider earned 9 points for his placing in the 1st cat. KOM, 10 for winning the 2nd cat. KOM, 2 for his team’s third place in the Super Team classification, 10 for the Combativity Award, 10 for the Bouquet bonus, 3 for the Conad “Grocery” bonus, and 10 for the Daily bonus (for reading La Gazzetta dello Sport before the start).
In third place is Romain Bardet (Team Picnic – PostNL) with 35 points: 18 for his second-place finish in the stage, 2 for his placing in the 1st cat. KOM, 5 for winning the 3rd cat. KOM, and 10 for the Breakaway Award
