FantaGiro d’Italia 2026: standings update on second rest day

18/05/2026

After the Grande Partenza in Bulgaria, the first phase of Giro d’Italia 2026 comes to a close following an intense and spectacular week, marked by fiercely contested stages, the first major climbs and early verdicts that are beginning to shape the hierarchy of both the race and FantaGiro d’Italia 2026.

At present, leading the Sports Ranking – the classification based exclusively on riders’ real performances, with points awarded according to stage results, official standings and bonuses strictly related to competition – is Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma | Lease a Bike with 158 points. The Danish champion has built his lead mainly thanks to his prestigious victories on the mountain finishes of Blockhaus and Corno alle Scale, as well as securing the Maglia Azzurra as leader of the King of the Mountains classification. Behind him sits the current Maglia Rosa holder Afonso Eulálio of Bahrain Victorious with 133 points, while Paul Magnier of Soudal–Quick Step completes the Sports Ranking podium with 112 points. The French sprinter, one of the standout performers of the Grande Partenza in Bulgaria, continues to remain among the leaders thanks also to his lead in the points classification and the conquest of the Maglia Ciclamino.

There is also great balance and excitement in the Fanta Ranking, the classification that represents the game’s most curious, unpredictable and entertaining side. Here, points are awarded through bonuses and penalties linked not only to the race itself, but also to the most original moments that take place during the stages, award ceremonies, signature podiums and through the daily bonuses set out in the rules. Leading the Fanta Ranking is Martin Marcellusi of Bardiani-Csf 7 Saber with 117 points, ahead of teammate Manuele Tarozzi, who sits second with 93 points. In third place is once again Jonas Vingegaard, proving his all-around strength in the fantasy game as well, with 82 points.

Representing the perfect blend of the two sides of FantaGiro d’Italia is the General Classification, calculated by combining the points earned in both the Sports Ranking and the Fanta Ranking. Here too, Jonas Vingegaard leads the way with 240 points. Chasing behind are Paul Magnier with 168 points and Afonso Eulálio with 166 points, both standout performers in a highly impressive start to the Giro.

Meanwhile, fantasy managers continue to follow their teams point by point through the official website and the new FantaGiro d’Italia mobile app, which allows users to track rankings, bonuses, maluses and updates in real time. Registrations remain open until 30 May: there is still time to join the game, create your team, choose your captain and experience every stage like a true protagonist. Strategy, intuition and fun will accompany fantasy managers all the way to the final stage, with the chance to win fantastic prizes, including the special De Rosa 838 FantaGiro Edition, iPhone 17, official Giro d’Italia 2026 jerseys and commemorative T-shirts by All4cycling.

The challenge is still wide open: the Giro is entering its decisive phase, and at FantaGiro every stage can change everything.
