The Grande Partenza of the 109th edition of the Giro d’Italia in Bulgaria came to an end with Stage 3, from Plovdiv to Sofia. Three intense and spectacular days, already packed with technical highlights and twists, which immediately ignited excitement around FantaGiro d’Italia 2026, with tens of thousands of fantasy managers closely tracking their teams point by point.
After the opening three stages, the first trends in the fantasy game rankings are beginning to emerge, and there have already been some surprises.
Leading the Sports Ranking — based exclusively on riders’ real performances, with points awarded according to stage results, official classifications and all bonuses strictly related to sporting competition – is Paul Magnier with 102 points. The young French sprinter from Soudal–Quick Step built his tally mainly thanks to his two sprint victories in the opening stage in Burgas (where he claimed the first Maglia Rosa, as well as the Cyclamen and White Jerseys) and in Sofia.
In second place, with 81 points, sits Spain’s Diego Pablo Sevilla of Team Polti VisitMalta, protagonist of three breakaways in as many stages, allowing him to collect points at intermediate sprints, Red Bull KM, mountain classifications, as well as securing the Maglia Azzurra and bonuses for the Breakaway and Combativity Awards. Completing the Sports Ranking podium is Thomas Silva of XDS Astana Team with 75 points. The Uruguayan rider, current leader of the Giro d’Italia general classification, built much of his score thanks to victory in Stage 2, Burgas–Veliko Tarnovo, a success that also earned him the Maglia Rosa and Maglia Bianca.
In the Fanta Ranking – determined by the bonuses and penalties outlined in the rules, rewarding curious, original and entertaining moments both during the race and in side events such as signature podiums, ceremonies and daily bonuses – Bardiani CSF 7 Saber dominates the standings. The team managed by Roberto Reverberi places three riders in the top three: Manuele Tarozzi leads with 47 points, followed by Luca Paletti with 45 and Martin Marcellusi with 42.
Representing the perfect combination of the two sides of FantaGiro d’Italia is the Overall Ranking, calculated by combining points earned in both the Sports Ranking and the Fanta Ranking. After the opening three stages, the provisional podium once again sees Paul Magnier in the lead with 136 points, followed by Diego Pablo Sevilla with 119 and Manuele Tarozzi with 110.
