Just over three weeks to go until the start of the 2026 Giro d’Italia, and there’s no better way to build excitement than by signing up for the FantaGiro d’Italia, the official fantasy game of the Giro d’Italia created and produced in collaboration between RCS Sport and the FantaSanremo team.
This experience will allow fans to enjoy their love for the Corsa Rosa at 360 degrees, not only by following the riders’ performances on Italian roads but also by embracing the most fun, curious, and light-hearted aspects of this legendary race. By registering (for free) until 30 May, via the app or the official website, the so-called Fanta Coaches can create up to a maximum of 5 teams, selecting 8 riders taking part in the Giro d’Italia 2026 and appointing one of them as captain – a key role, as the points earned based on each stage’s finishing order will be doubled. All of this must be done within a budget of 100 Wolfie, the Giro d’Italia mascot as well as the official “currency” of FantaGiro. Once teams are completed, participants can take part in the FantaGiro d’Italia Trophy, which brings together all users’ teams, or compete in both Premium Leagues promoted by partners or leagues created by users themselves.
There are once again numerous prizes up for grabs in 2026, awarded through three different mechanisms: a draw among all participants, results in the Sports Ranking (based on the riders’ actual performances), and the new FantaScore, a parallel game that allows participants to test their predictive skills stage by stage.
All users who, by 30 May, have completed registration on the app or website and created at least one team with a designated captain, in accordance with the rules, will be entered into the draw and will have the chance to win a stunning De Rosa 838 road bike – FantaGiro special edition – and three iPhone 17 256GB Black.
However, winning prizes will not rely on luck alone. For the first time this year, the skill and tactical insight of Fanta Coaches will also be rewarded: results in the Sports Ranking will give all those who register for the FantaGiro d’Italia by 30 May the opportunity to win the jerseys of the Giro d’Italia 2026 general classifications, signed by their respective winners, as well as the Special Jerseys dedicated to the most iconic stages of the Corsa Rosa.
Specifically, the following will be awarded: the Maglia Rosa to the participant with the highest score in the Sports Ranking; the Maglia Ciclamino to the fantasy manager who scores the most points in the Paestum–Naples stage on 14 May; the Special #Giro109 Blockhaus Jersey to the participant who achieves the highest score in the Formia–Blockhaus stage on 15 May; the Maglia Azzurra for best climber of the Giro d’Italia 2026 to the participant who prevails in the Aosta–Pila stage on 23 May; the Special #Giro109 Milan Jersey to the participant who scores the most points in the Voghera–Milan stage on 24 May; the Special #Giro109 Cima Coppi Jersey to the participant who wins the Feltre–Alleghe (Piani di Pezzè) stage on 29 May; and the Special #Giro109 Rome Jersey to the fantasy manager who achieves the highest score in the final stage in Rome on 31 May. In addition, all players aged between 18 and 26 on the opening date of registrations for FantaGiro d’Italia 2026 (8 April 2026) will be eligible for a draw to win the Maglia Bianca signed by the winner of the Giro d’Italia Young Rider Classification.
Another major new feature is the FantaScore. Through the app or website, participants can answer prediction-based questions related to race events (such as the stage winner, the Maglia Rosa, or the breakaway award), with questions varying depending on the type of stage. Participants who play FantaScore will earn, for each quiz they take part in (regardless of whether their answers are correct), the chance to win commemorative Giro d’Italia 2026 T-shirts by All4Cycling.
