A journey around Scandiano for an effortless ride around the town of Boiardo.
The route winds almost entirely along the cycle paths of the Emilian town, suitable for any cyclist with any level of fitness.
Along the route there are several areas of natural interest and there are many opportunities to stop and refuel.

NOTES:
The roads are generally low traffic except in just a few cases. Always bear in mind that the cycle paths linked by this route are of different types. Even with the greatest care taken in their selection, it is not possible to guarantee the absence of gravel. Some sections have physical separation from the road, others share the road surface. Some are reserved for bicycles others are shared with pedestrians. It is recommended to always use the cycle path, especially in the presence of heavy traffic. When the route was originally designed, separate bicycle corridors were available in the busiest sections.

Matteo Maria Boiardo (Scandiano 1441, Reggio Emilia 1494), feudal Count of Scandiano, is considered one of the most famous and important Italian literary figures of the 15th century. He wrote Orlando Innamorato, picking up themes and characters from court novels, and merging the two main pre-existing narrative strands, the Carolingian (Charlemagne and his Paladins) and the Breton (Knights of the Round Table).

The poem remained unfinished due to the poet’s death. The interrupted plot was taken up by Ludovico Ariosto in his Orlando Furioso.
