Technical Info
A loop for highly trained and skilled cyclists, confident in handling their bike (recommended for road or gravel bikes). It starts with a long descent from Calascio to the Ofena junction, where a long 28 km climb begins, averaging 4% with no extreme pitches (max 9%). An exposed, sun-drenched ascent, but with rest points in Villa Santa Lucia degli Abruzzi and Castel del Monte. After the Capo la Serra Pass, the route stays at high altitude until the junction that separates Gran Sasso from Santo Stefano di Sessanio. A long descent follows, steep in places, leading back to the starting point.
