A mountain stage featuring two long central climbs. Riders gradually climb through Val di Non and Val di Sole to reach Passo del Tonale. After a fast descent to Ponte di Legno, they tackle Passo del Mortirolo from Monno, where the final 3 km are all above 10%. A tough descent to Grosio follows, then a long climb toward Bormio, with a short ascent of Le Motte before turning off to the finish.
Final kilometres
The last 3 km are mostly downhill. After entering Bormio, a U-turn marks the start of the flat section leading to the line. A few sharp corners lead into a final straight of 100 m. The finish area road is 7 m wide and asphalted.
