Route
After an initial section inland in the Imperia area as far as Pieve di Teco, the stage follows the Via Aurelia from Albenga to Savona in the opposite direction to Milano–Sanremo, including several “capi” and some urban sections. Leaving Savona, the route climbs Colle Giovo and Bric Berton to enter the Po Valley, from where a series of short ups and downs leads to Novi Ligure. In the final part, the route uses some narrower roads before joining wide and straight roads.
Final kilometres
The last 3 km are virtually straight, interrupted by a few roundabouts that can be taken almost without deviation. The final corner comes at 3,000 m from the finish. Final straight of 2,800 m on 7.5 m wide asphalt.
