In the final race of Alejandro Valverde and Vincenzo Nibali, the Slovenian rider wins his second Il Lombardia in a row. Spaniards Enric Mas and Mikel Landa round off the podium
Tadej Pogačar repeats his previous success at Il Lombardia, one year after he won the autumnal Monument for the first time. He out-sprinted Enric Mas on the final straight after the duo distanced themselves from the group of favourites on the Civiglio climb. Mikel Landa accompanied them for a while before he dropped back, fighting by himself for third place. Vincenzo Nibali and Alejandro Valverde rode the last race of their fantastic careers as protagonists in the finale, with the Italian placed in 24th and the Spaniard veteran in 6th.
