An initially undulating stage that flattens out almost entirely along a closing circuit (ridden for 1 long lap and 4 smaller laps). After the riders arrive in Fermo, the route crosses the finish line to begin the long lap that heads back up to the town before descending back to the Tre Archi and crossing the line. Four smaller laps are then ridden.

Last km

Four short laps are covered in the finale, each ascending the first kilometer of the Capodarco climb before heading back to San Marco and then arriving at the finish. The stage ends with a flat finishing straight, 8.5m wide, with an asphalt surface.

Castelraimondo

Located in the Marchean Apennines, on the left side of the upper valley of River Potenza, Castelraimondo is surrounded by a rich natural landscape made of lush forests and meadows, with vineyards and olive groves along the hillsides. Rising above the old town is the majestic ‘Cassero’, a 37-m tall watchtower, dating back to the 14th century and belonging to the ‘Intagliata’ system, a network of watchtowers, moats and massive walls built by the Da Varano family to defend the city of Camerino. The area has a valuable natural asset comprising the Sibylline Mountains National Park, and the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Regional Nature Park, the ‘green heart’ of the region. Local customs include the traditional ‘Infiorata’ celebrating the Corpus Christi Feast: on the night between Saturday and Sunday, the town’s associations cover the main street with flower carpets depicting holy scenes and symbols, which are then taken apart on Monday morning.

Lido di Fermo

Lido di Fermo is a seaside town within the municipal territory of Fermo, lying north of Porto San Gior- gio. It offers fine, golden sandy beaches and countless bathing facilities. Within the southern part of the region, this is the area with the highest concentration of campsites. In 2020, the beach of Lido di Fermo became a Blue Flag winner for 8 consecutive years for its water quality standards. The bike route along the promenade is part of the Ciclovia Adriatica, a cycle network that will span the entire Adriatic coast. The beautiful Fermo is only 6 km away from the sea, and it does deserve a visit: main sights include the lovely Piazza del Popolo, with its iconic earthenware arcades, and the huge, well-preserved first-century Roman reservoirs (covering approx. 2,200 square metres underground).
