With his solo triumph at the finish in Champoluc, Nicolas Prodhomme (Decathlon – AG2R La Mondiale) dominates Stage 19 of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the 166 km Biella – Champoluc, setting a season-high score of 128 points.
The 28-year-old French rider, celebrating his first ever Giro d’Italia victory, collected 30 points for the stage win, 3 for his result at the intermediate sprint, 32 on 1st cat. KOMs, 10 on 2nd cat. KOMs, 10 points for the Combativity Prize, and another 10 for the Breakaway Prize.
Prodhomme further boosted his total with 5 points for the Toast bonus, 10 for his first ever stage win at the Giro d’Italia, 3 for the Conad Grocery bonus, 10 for the Novi “Full Gas Breakaway” bonus (winning after a solo action of at least 20 km), and 5 for the SOLO Single-Origin Coffee “I Go SOLO” Bonus (leading solo for at least 10 km).
In second place on the day is the Maglia Rosa Isaac Del Toro (UAE Team Emirates – XRG) with 47 points: 10 for leading the general classification, 18 for his second-place finish on the stage, 4 from his position on the 2nd cat. KOM, 5 for UAE Team Emirates – XRG leading the Super Team classification, and 10 for the “Calm Before the Storm” bonus.
Rounding out the FantaGiro stage podium is Richard Carapaz (EF Education – EasyPost) with 34 points: 9 for his second place in the GC, 15 for finishing third on the stage, 3 for his placing on a 1st cat. KOM, 6 for a 2nd cat. KOM, and 1 point from the Conad “Grocery” bonus.
