Kasper Asgreen’s breakaway (EF Education–EasyPost) secures victory in Stage 14 of the FantaGiro d’Italia, the 195 km Treviso–Nova Gorica. The 1995-born Danish rider racks up an impressive 95 points thanks to his winning breakaway: 30 for first place on the stage, 4 for placements in intermediate sprints, 2 for third at the Red Bull KM, 9 for cat. 4 KOM placings, 10 for the Combativity Award, 10 for the Breakaway Award, 10 for his first ever Giro d’Italia stage win, 10 for the Endless Passion Rotoloni Regina bonus (stage win by a rider over 30), and 10 for the Daily bonus (photo with the Slovenian flag).
Another breakaway rider, Mirco Maestri (Team Polti–VisitMalta), takes second in the FantaGiro stage rankings with 51 points: 9 for sixth place on the stage, 8 for intermediate sprint placements, 6 for being first at the Red Bull KM, 5 for cat. 4 KOM points, 5 for the Acrobat bonus (team mechanic intervention during the race), 4 for the Conad “Grocery” bonus, 5 for the Imatra “Fast Start” bonus (first rider through the 25 km mark), and 10 for the Daily bonus.
In third place, Afonso Eulálio (Bahrain–Victorious) scores 33 points: 3 for the Super Team ranking, 10 for the Push bonus, 10 for the Stop&Go bonus (waiting for and helping a teammate back into the peloton after a crash or mechanical), and 10 for the Daily bonus.
