Route
Short and fast stage, featuring a long intermediate climb that is not particularly demanding. Start in Catanzaro and head towards Lamezia Terme with no significant elevation difficulties, then continue along the Tyrrhenian coast (SS18) on wide, gently undulating roads. After San Lucido, the climb of Cozzo Tunno begins (linked at the summit with Passo della Crocetta from Paola). The climb is almost 15 km long but without major gradients. A long descent follows to the Crati plain, where a slight uphill leads to the finish in Cosenza.
Final kilometres
Final 3 km in an urban setting with some bends in the central section, always on wide roads. The route rises very slightly up to the hump of the bridge over the Crati. A series of wide curves then leads into the finishing straight. Final straight of 450 m at 3.7%, on 8 m wide asphalt.
