An individual time trial raced entirely on urban roads through the capital, from Pest to the old town of Buda. Starting from the Heroes’ Square, the route heads straight towards the Danube, which separates the two souls of the city. Taking in several bends, the stage course reaches the riverside, passes the neo‑Gothic Parliament and crosses the Danube to roll along the opposite bank. Moving away from the river, the route takes in the closing climb (peaking out at 14% in the first part, with stretches on road pavers) that leads to the finish in Buda Square.
