Juan Sebastián Molano wins Stage 1 of the 2021 Giro di Sicilia 2021

Vincenzo Albanese (Eolo-Kometa Cycling Team) and Maximiliano Richeze (UAE Team Emirates) finished second and third respectively.

Juan Sebastian Molano (UAE Team Emirates) wears the Maglia Rossa/Gialla and leads the General Classification.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and Maglia Rossa/Gialla Juan Sebastian Molano said: “Our team has done a spectacular job. It was a finish that suited me very well. Max Richeze and I kept enough of our strength to come across to the Italian rider at the end. This win means a lot to me after I was forced to pull out of La Vuelta because of a crash.
