Matthew Walls wins hte 2021 GranPiemonte presented by EOLO

Matthew Walls  (Bora-Hansgrohe) has won the 105th Gran Piemonte presented by Eolo, raced over a 168km route from Rocca Canavese to Borgosesia.

The second finisher was Giacomo Nizzolo (Qhubeka NextHash), while the third was Olav Kooij (Jumbo-Visma).

Speaking seconds after the race’s finish, the winner Matthew Walls (Bora-Hansgrohe) said: “The team got me in a good position towards the closing kilometres. I saw a good opportunity to go and I went for it. I think my track-cycling skills helped a lot today. It was pretty hectic coming to the finish. This win is really big and it shows that I can compete at the top level also on the road.”
