Filippo Ganna wins stage 1 of the Tirreno-Adriatico and is the first Maglia Azzurra of the race

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) has won the first stage of the 57th edition of the Corsa dei due Mari, a 13.9km ITT from Lido di Camaiore to Lido di Camaiore. Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) recorded the second and third-best times.
Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) also leads the General Classification and wears the first Maglia Azzurra.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and first Maglia Azzurra Filippo Ganna, said: “I wanted to do well today because this is a very important race for me and for the team. In the first section there was a lot of headwind but then after the U-turn the wind was favorable and I was able to push harder. Tomorrow there is a stage for sprinters and we will see if I will be able to defend this jersey. In the next few days I will support the team leaders, Richard Carapaz and Richie Porte and if my legs allow it I will try to show myself up front again. “
