Etixx Quick-Step comes to the Giro d’Italia with a strong and balanced team

Returning to the race after two years, Marcel Kittel will be one to watch out for in the flat stages, where he’ll look to add more wins to his already impressive haul of victories, which at the moment includes more than 60 successes since turning pro. A revived Gianluca Brambilla – one of the most consistent riders in the first part of the season, during which he impressed in one-day races and stage events alike – will start the Corsa Rosa for the fifth time in his career and will look to make the most out of his participation, after last year he was forced to miss it due to a collarbone fracture. Also joining Etixx – Quick-Step’s outfit for the first Grand Tour of 2016 will be Bob Jungels, the Luxembourg champion who made headlines earlier this season by finishing third in the general classification of Tirreno-Adriatico, where he won the best young rider standings. One of the most talented riders in the peloton, 23-year-old Jungels will make a new step in his career by racing and discovering the Giro d’Italia, an event which was twice won by his countryman, Charly Gaul, more than half a century ago.
