ROUTE
Stage 11 – Assisi-Osimo 156km – total elevation 2,800m
The route crosses the Umbro-Marchean Apennines through Passo del Cornello, rolls past Cingoli and then takes in some of the iconic punchy climbs of this area (called “muri”), especially the Muro di Filottrano and the inner streets of Osimo (in the stage finale). The roads are relatively wide, but the surface is worn out at points.

Final kilometres
The last 5km are very demanding. In Osimo, the route takes in the Via del Borgo climb (300m with a 16% gradient), on cobblestones. After a short and steep drop, the route climbs again, up Via Olimpia (approx. 1km with 16% ramps over long stretches) and then enters the old town, still climbing slightly, on porphyry. The home straight is 300m long, on 7m-wide asphalt road.
